front wheel bearings

i need to adjust one of my front wheel bearings but how do i take off the dust cover,..do i hammer it off or pull it off or what,?? the car is a1996 w210 e230

It will knock off with a blunt chisel in the groove, just tap it lightly

once again thank you for that tip television,..my previous attemps with an old flat blade screw driver were unsuccessful,.however lurking in the bottom of my toolbox was an old blunt 1 inch wood chisel,..using this with a claw hammer soon had it off and job done
