Hi all am after some help me car is a mercedes E class 2.1 auto w212 2012 plate bluefficiency.
So a bought me car 6 months ago and it was perfect a noticed me front discs were low so a put new front discs and pads on.
Since a put them 4 weeks ago a have acquired wobble at high speed and when a turn right at low speeds the driver side brake disc is catching and rubbing on the brake carrier NOT the caliper so a seen a mechanic and he suggested the wheel bearing and to be on the safe side new discs and pads again so we changed them but the catching and rubbing is still there but it's no where near as bad. At high speeds now 60+ the car shakes profusely and also when a reverse the car in a straight line the same disc is catching and rubbing but driving straight ahead nothing no noise.
So am open to any suggestions thanks.

Soooo only the right side is rubbing.

Please look at road force balancing for the wobble. Will most likely fix your issue

Thanks 4 the replys notifications have just come through.

Ye it's just the 1 front drivers side wheel rubbing and yes a did polish and clean the hubs before a put the new discs on.
Me tyres are low so maybe in a couple of weeks al need new tyres and hopefully that will cure the wobble.
Cheers Graeme

I assume the car has a staggered wheel set-up have you checked that the wider rear section wheel hasn’t been put to the front? I had a tyre fitter put the correct front tyre on the wider rear wheel which led to a bit of head scratching, the only way to tell was to remove the wheel and check the wheel size on the inside. Surprisingly the car drove ok in a straight line but the issue was evident when turning right at slow speed with the wheel rubbing against the shock absorber

The tyre is the original 1 that came with the car when a bought it.
The sound is metal on metal scrapping sound.
The car was perfectly fine until a replaced the front discs and pads both done the same way but yet the drivers side is playing up and the passenger side is totally fine a just don't understand whats wrong with it.

Where the new discs from Mercedes? If not I would find out what thickness the discs should be for your car and check the ones supplied

Even if it is 1mm out, it will rub and make sound of metal scraping.
How do you fancy checking the bolts holding the brake carrier on the drivers side.

The discs and pad are PAGID from euro car parts.
The only other thing a can think of is it might be a sticky piston.

Hi thanks for the replys it was a sticking piston causing the pads to stick it must have been not retracting enough when turning right.
All sorted for now lol.
