Front windows - a question

Hi all

I have a 1996 C240 Elegance Estate (which is absolutely the most reliable car I have ever owned!), but noticed the other day that the glass in the front drivers and passenger doors is'nt the ususal make - it's marked Armourplate, and is thicker than the other glass. Any suggestions just out of interest?

very very lightly armoured?

to about .22 spec though... theres no point in having slightly thicker glass in the front doors if the back ones are standard....
