Front wiper 'sticking'

1998 C180. The front wiper has just started to 'stick' for a few seconds as it moves over the screen.

Would this be the motor going? If so, is it an easy enough job for a mechanic to fit. I called Merc to see how much if it was the motor, and they quoted £900 approx. I can get a used part, but not sure if it needs a specialist to fit it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Does this procedure also apply to the W124 ? (Wiper seems to be the same....)

Guess it would, probably carried the part over from the 124! pull the cover of and have a looky!

Yes its the same principle for the 124
