wot a ballache. good luck.
good old days turbo spins,seals dont leak, oil press in top . jobs a good un! today break yr arm in 5 places (so you can get at anything ) take a pack of asprins, lift bonnet, hope you have the latest version of a normal fastener removal tool ( new torx, special bendy socket, non std ect. go look some kind of software update, pray. seems to be the story.
lookin forward to sunshine and runs in my completely uncomplicated classic NG this summer.

Took the car to a turbo specialist near where i live..he seem to think(95%certain)its a swirl flap motor...****** hope so,i want me car back!!

Not a bad fix fingers crossed. I was told I had a swirl flap jammed by 3 garages ended up being a sheered bolt in the manifold. 308 smackers new manifold.

Picked the car up abt 6pm after work...and its fixedno warning lights,kickdown works and it pulls for fun now..ive got my car backjust hope i fall in love with it again as its been off the road 6 weeks now(cash flow and working away).so glad i didnt put a turbo on it as was told it wudnt fix itjust shows,sometime u have to take it to a specialist garage.

Congratulations you'll fall in love again very soon. I can't tell you the amount of times iv thought about getting rid there nothing better in the long run.

It was the swirl flap motor.oil had seeped on top of it and shorted the circuits of the motor out...bit strange i thought..y did merc put and electrical circuit under a turbo that will eventually leak..its a common fault on the 3.0litre V6 apparently!!!i did read the replys,thats y i took it to a specialistand didnt waste ££££s on a turbo for it not to be fixed..the lad gave me the old swirl motor back.so im off dwn the indy garage asap to hear the excuse(the mechanic sed “its definatly the turbo,ive done loads).

When I was quoted £2k for a new turbo on my car they factored in a new swirl flap motor while they were there to prevent the fault youve just had.
