Hello all,
Does any one were I can find the fuel mixture screw on my E220 on an M reg, it failed its MOT test today on fuel emissions (co at 3.5% but HC’s were within limits) she runs OK but sometimes faulters at idle and the tester was unsure where it adjusting screw was to adjust it downwards so if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Ther is no screw adjustment, its factory computer set.

Often a good burn out at high speed clears the system to get them through

It is all electronic and relies on sensors for feedback for the proper fuel amount to be injected into engine.

That generation of car needs to have a good fresh Lambda probe at 100k miles.

Also if the plugs and filter are old, change them also.

The coolant temperature sensor often go out of spec and is an important sensor for correct fuel at any given temperature.

Thanks keith,I could not remember the country :D:D

My 300TE in Sweden was tested in the Winter with only 16k kilometers on it and failed the test. Went for a Drive locked in 3rd flat out, came back and it sailed through the test

Sorry I haven't replied to you, been a bit busy!

I did a quick engine service on the beast (new filters, plugs, oil change etc) and finnally gave her the Italian tune up and she passed OK!

So thanks for the good advice.
