Hi, located by the pump, underneath just in front of NSR wheel under plastic cover.

There are 2 types of filter, one has push-on hoses held with use-once clips and the other has screwed unions - get under and look first so you get the right one (you will see the part number on the filter) - VIN does not always get you the right one.

Bend and squeeze the rubber pipes while you are down there as any perishing means they should be replaced.

As the filter comes off, be ready for 1/2 pint petrol still inside it!

Clamp with G-cramps uising some cloth to soften the contact. Mole grips if very carefully adjusted and more padding.

(Petrol) car will start quite easily afterwards - <10 secs cranking.

Half hour job, 45 mins tops.

you could almost run it out of fuel,(carry a can) then if you jack up the drivers side as high as you can, nothing much will come out, there will be some fuel in the pipes gut you cant do anything with that other than letting it run back into a clean jar.. Don't forget the filter goes on with the arrow pointing to the front.

The dealers clamp the pipes - they have a couple of screw clamps to squash the pipes.

Hi Raj, the arrow should point in the direction of the flow.

It effects the fuel flow and particle retention if it is backwards.

Not having much luck on the fuel front are you!

Filter on backwards CAN lose filter material into the fuel flow.....follow the pipes from the tank and you will quickly see if its on the right way - arrow in direction of flow (not necessarily front to back of car).

If you don't have a proper hose clamp, use a pair of 'Mole' grips with a socket on each of the grip's 'noses'.

If you undo the petrol tank cap, a woosh of air will indicate it is depresurised. In my experience, very little petrol comes out in practice. Perhaps the total loss is a couple of cup fulls.
Do de-connect the battery. Spark = bang= goodbye.
