Hi, Guys, advice has been to remove diesel fuel filter from my 308 cdi but I can't seem to remove the sensor at the bottom of the filter; it simply rotates and stays attached!
Any method to this? or brute strength the key?
Many thanks

im not that familiar with the 308cdi, but going by merc vans ive worked on in the past it will be a screw in sensor in the bottom of the filter. should screw out, standard thread. it could be tight though. if it turns but wont come out, either replace filter and sensor together, or if the new filter has a water trap you remove to fit the sensor, id just use that and scrap the sensor. it shouldnt put lights up on the dash if its unplugged. the sensor is only there to warn of excessive water in the fuel filter anyhow and if its serviced according to MB spec and decent fuel used (not out of a tank at home) the filter shouldnt gather enough water for it to need to warn you that the water needs drained as the filter will be changed before theres enough water in the diesel!
