Guys.. I have an E320 CDi, 2000 W reg. Just recently, the fuel warning light has stopped working. The gauge works fine, and all the other warning lights in the dash are working. Any ideas.

thanks

Yes.. The whole instrument cluster is pulled out with hook, and the bulb goes in from behind.

Some say that you can push them out from behind,, but I could not on a 210,, there is no room.

If your MB dealer is decent, they will pull the cluster for you while you wait

I did it :)...though you're right, its a two finger job.
Our delaer offered to do it..for £60 - but in these sticky times they may be more flexible.

I remember your post on this when you pushed yours out. The last versions of this car (226) have a lot more under the dash. Running a thin flat knife around the edge can help to free it off.

I now have the hooks, in fact many of the special tools, and I used to loan them out. Sadly some were never returned, so it spoils it for everyone.

I think that I have only seen 2 post where the dealer pulled it out free

Fair point Malcolm, you could be right, the last mini facelift version came with an adjustable wheel. Mine didn't have one and I imagine that would have added to the clutter under there. 2000 when this change occurred so whilst mine was also a 2000 facelift car this one may be more tricky.

The last one we battled on had some extra leds down each side of the cluster, these are not shown on my info sites.

In the first place I printed out what was said here, and took it down to the garage guys, after cut wrist, after we all tried I bought the hooks, even then it was hard and scary
