Fuel Gauge Not Working C180 (1995)

My fuel gauge has stopped working, First it was giving incorrect readings now it has stopped completly. HELP!!!!!

One of the tank units most likely, difficult to work out which, so its best to replace both.

common problem

I own a 95 C180 esprit with the same problem. I had a chat with my mechanic and he told me that this is a very common problem with this model he said replacing the unit sensors will remporarily fix the problem but they will apparently go as well over time.
