Hi there,

has anyone tried the engine mod where an engine sensor (air temp?) is removed and replaced with a resistor?

It is claimed that this can increase bhp by up to 20hp:shock: - with an average of 5 - 10 hp depending on type of car.

Sounds interesting but there's no way I'd do it without feedback from other owners who have run this mod for years without croaking their catalytic converter or blowing up their engine!!!

Thanks,

Newboy

All it does is fool the ECU into thinking it needs to shove in more fuel. In some circumstances, that may give a bit more hp. In most circumstances, it won't. It'll certainly drink more fuel.

As bargain bucket says, forget it, his discription is correct, The part itself only cost ½p for 10, if it was worthwhile all car makers would adjust accordingly.

Cheers - I'll pass on this one then. To be honest the SL320 has enough poke for me at the moment anyway as my last car was a 1.8 Mazda Premacy!!! (0 to 60 in half an hour);) .

Out of curiosity does any one have the performance figures (or a link) for the SLs and CLKs - older models as well as the new ones??

Thanks,

Newboy
