I have recently bought a 230E which has been stood for two years. It starts, runs for a few seconds and then stops. I replaced the fuel pump - now we have fuel in the base of the distribution head but it is not getting through to the injectors - why?

Sounds like when the car was first started all of the crud in the fuel lines has shifted and clogged up the lines from the fuel distributor to the injectors...try taking the lines off from the distributor head to the injectors and blowing them out....you may also suffer from crud stuck in the fuel distributor...if this is the case you may need to get a reconditioned one

fuel can go like jelly after a long period of storage where air can get to it and as said above can clog components up
