Hi everyone,
The car seemed to run out of fuel. Eventually found the fuse for pump blown. Blows as soon as I turn the key. Boot now in bits. Renewed the filter, no change. Finally put my hand in and released the sender and pump

Sounds like the pump is faulty ? Have you managed to bench test it ?

Sorry didn't finish post, the two wires to pump have been hot ( bit concerning) pump still runs off a battery on the bench. Could it be going dead earth when submerged. Any ideas where I can source in the UK for sensible money. Can the pump be removed from the plastic housing and changed on its own. Does anyone recommend an alternative
Many thanks

Lots of electrical components fail, I have found that they will work on a bench test as some people don't subject them to load. Load testing will determine if it's karput. I would retest it with a load on it, if it fails, a new pump might be best.
Another thing to consider is blockage inside the pump from debris or bad fuel?

Speak to FSE Glencoe in Staines if you have the pump out, they should be able to give you a replacement based on the numbers off it.
