where is the fuel pump located on a 1986 300e mercedes?

next to the fuel tank - look from underneath the car and you'll see it

Later models have two fuel pumps.

TE's can have one pump mounted transversley between the fuel tank and back axle and the second pump in line under a large plastic cover in front of the back axle.

Some models have both pumps under the plastic cover, earlier models had only one pump!

My 89 TE had two pumps in series.....
