fuel pump

hi,their i a loud buzzing sound coming from the rear of my 2000 e240,it can be heard inside the car at the rear as well,i am assuming it is the fuel pump but it does not seem to affect the performance...can anything be done to quieten the noise/vibration as i dont fancy buying a new one as it still works ok cheers

Hi,
I have only ever heard the fuel pump on my car's when the fuel level is low.
You,ll only gonna cure the noise I believe by replacing the pump.
Noisey pump normally indicates that the pump is on its way out in my limited experience.
