Fuel Stopped Flowing

Last weekend my 98 C240 cut out whilst idling......wouldn`t re-start. RAC guy after a lot of time said fuel pump was still operating but the relay was the trouble. So had the car towed to my regular non Merc garage where it`s thought the fuel pump itself might be faulty. They`re getting an electronic diagnostic instrument in to assist. Is it a relay? a master relay [it there is such a thing] or indeed the pump? Anyone had similar problem?

Is Pump Runniing

If the pump is running it would not be the relay.

Do a volume check to see if the pump is delivering enough fuel to keep the motor running.

If not replace the pump. But do make sure you clean out your tank and change your filter when installing the new pump.

065 is the fuel pump relay,unplug and join number 30 to 87 the car should run.

You can put 12v onto the pump but before doing that you must remove the relay

windscreen washer check level.

Hi,

I'm having a message in my car C240, 2001 the message keep saying that. check windscreen washer level. I was told by the Merc dealer that, the sensor is faulty. I did buy a new sensor wich cost about £15 from the dealer and managed to put it in, but the message still there.
I called the dealer to inform them about the out come, I was told that to check if the new sensor is faulty I need to shorten the circuit and the message will disapear because the sensor work as swicth. I did shorten the circuit but the message still remain.

Pls would any one tell me what that fault could be, I did check the circuit using the voltage metter, I ve got a reading of 5volts come from it. Please Help I would be very much appreciated.

The washer is in series with the engine header tank, so do check that one too
