I bought my E320d last April at 4 years old under the approved used scheme from a Mercedes’ dealership. I was told it had just had a B service and felt assured having bought under the Apprived Used scheme that I was getting ful service history (a requirement of the scheme and the warranty I believe).

12 months later and I take the car for a service (flashing up on dash A service) which I thought is right.

I have just arrived at Mercedes’ Warrington and I’m told it needs a B service (fine). I asked why, when the car states A service and they printed off a sheet with last service being 2020, explaining that it has missed a B service on 2021 and therefore should have a B service now.

Missed a service? How is that possible when I bought an approved used at 4 years old?

I expect I was lied to / conned by the selling dealership and I intend to complain.

Anybody else experienced this or have any words of wisdom?

Thanks
I’m venting!!!

I even had warranty work (rear shocks) carried out so surprised they didn’t question it then?

I expect MB will say the service was carried out but not logged onto the system. I shall be raising the roof.

Thankfully I did an oil change myself shortly after buying the car (I’m obsessive). Thank god for my obsessive nature, otherwise I’d would be 2 years and no service!

My bold is boiling. I already don’t trust any motor trade sales staff. Now, I’m off the scale.

It’s a sorry state.

Sorry to hear this and yes it doesn’t surprise me. I’m of the generation of hard copy service books and in the absence of them I always as for a service print out

I would certainly complain but no doubt their comment will be that the salesman made a mistake it happens but at least you will have vented your discontent

The service print out isn't infallible by any means. The one on mine shows 2 services "missing", but I have the documentation to show that the services were undertaken by MB dealers, and one missing was done by MB Warrington!
