Presumably if hit the front hard enough there must come a point where it thinks you have crashed.
In late '90's I was told by a teenage boy in a high crime area of UK that the way to steal the old 7 series BMW was to hit the front wheel with a lump hammer. If done hard enough it thought there had been a shunt and opened the door locks to let in rescue people.
