WD40 and talc will make a lovely mess...

If I was doing the talc, I wouldn't use wd40.

I won't do the talc.. a good clean down should be enough to help identify leak.

You have pushed the gauze screen down into your air mass meter too. It might not be causing a problem, but worth looking at in case any small pieces get broken off and sucked into the engine.

Blue/turquoise are the fuel rails. High pressure fuel in there - beware!

Unfortunately the gauze has been like that for as long as I can remember (when I got the car) seems little I can as I can't seem to source separately. Totally open to suggestions. I think I might end up fashioning something out of similar size gauze that will sit over the MAF or something.

Ok, blue/turquoise will be left as is.. phew. Good job I love asking plenty of questions. Looks like the red/yellow are simple enough wiring harnesses that I can remove.
