Hi All

I got a question for you? My C200 has two fuse boxes according to the chart tucked inside my dash board on the driver side. Took the chart out and unfolded it looked up the sound system - number 26 and then amp 25. The other fuse box is located under the hood near the driver side windscreen.

The confusion for me is that the sound system fuse is located in the dash board driver side fuse box as indicated on the chart however a physical check revealed that there is a big gap where no fuse can be plugged in as illustrated in the pics below. How do I plug in number 26 fuse 25amp if there is a gap with no where to plug it in. My cd changer is not being recognised by the radio but the cd changer ejects with green light. Any ideas guys... appreciate your help.

I'm guessing that there will be another fuse that controls the radio. No 26 maybe for an optional sound system that you don't have. However having said that if your changer has a green light on it then that implies it is getting power.

On an aside, 4 of your fuses appear to be backwards, I don't know if I could live with knowing that they don't all line up. Unless of course that those 4 are fed the other way ;-)

if the cd changer light comes on and the radio fires up, then I can't see how it could be the fuse. The extra fuse could be for a separate harman Kardon amp, command or some other extra. With no holder I wouldn't worry about it.
More likely its a connection problem between the changer and the head unit.

Its not the fuse.

How old is the car? Is it a facelifted W203?

It is most likely a broken or damaged fibre cable or wakeup signal as the changer is getting power.

According to the chart the there is a 64 for the radio and a 26 for the sound system(SE).

This is the first time I went into the side panel to find the fuse box by the dash. The fuses were set that way from I bought the car unless the previous owner placed the fuses the wrong way round. However I thought it didn't matter which way fuses were inserted, I stand corrected if I am wrong.

I think your'e right because since I had the car coming up to 2 years now I have had the cd changer working on and off. Meaning when I press the CD button on the radio to switch between the cd on the radio and the cd changer it doesn't do it. Now the cd changer doesn't switch over/play when I press the cd button on the radio.

It is not a face-lifted w203, it slides open left to right manually. The changer cartridde ejects with all 5 cd holders. You then pull each holder out to insert/remove the CDs. I am thinking this optical cable could be the reason for the fault. I would have to unscrew the cd changer that is fixed in the glove compartment to get behind it and have a look.

The CD changer came with the car, it just stop playing so I initially thought it was the fuse. This is because my cigar lighter also stopped working and I changed the fuse and it is now working again. The cd changer been working on and off for some time ever since I got the car but now it is completely not working.
