But why the hard sell if it's not an advert? These fora are not intended for advertising - there's enough of that rubbish on the Internet already.

If Anthony Banos wants to post all that garbage with just a question "Has anyone used this" then he should set up a website and point to it.  He's neither saying anything relevant to MB enthusiasts nor asking questions that we might be able to answer. Just posting a load of reasons why we would want a system like this, and if that ain't an advert then I'm curious to know what is.

'Under the line' marketing like this is becoming more intrusive on the Internet. I want to stop it.

Garage Door Remote Control

Anthony,
I've got a remote controlled Henderson garage door, and have recently got info on the mirror from my dealer.
If your system is compatible, the new mirror stores and when pressed transmits the relevant frequency opening the door.
In my case the attraction is that the supplied Henderson remote controller is almost the size of a house brick, and there is nowhere convenient for it to sit in the car - I hate things rattling around.
What I've got is the MB internal infosheet, which tells you how to programme and use the mirror/controller, and has a 3 page compatibility table.
It doesn't tell me the price - and an alternative may be to buy a smaller 'learning' remote.
If you need any more info, let me know.

PS - Ben, I think you're wrong - Anthony may not post regularly, but he has certainly posted several times before....

Garage Door Remote Control

Hi Guy,

I was considering the Henderson Aperto 1000 with the 2X2 button mini transmitter 30m range, but as you mention I rather have an integral control system in the car instead of  the stand alone hand-held control. I have not found feedback  on the HomeLink from a user yet, but I understand they are substantially more pricey than Henderson. I will keep looking in other forums for some positive feedback (and hope they don't get ruffled by the notion of spam!!).

Many thanks for your kind response

Hi Anthony, I wanted the system you posted information about, so when I ordered my car, I specified the remote controller in the Mirror housing. The Mirror has three buttons for three remotes plus a 'learn' button. I wanted to open the gates to my Castle, the garage door, and the house front door which also has a remote lock. All of the remotes are different frequencies, the Mirror will no seem to accept the learning instructions and I have given up using the Mirror remote, unless some computer Guru can sort it out !!!

Thanks for publishing your article. It didn't seem like 'Spam' to me.

Tony,

The mirror remote is only compatible with certain manufacturers remote controls - and you have to keep the learn button depressed for about 30 secs when programming.

Are you sure yours are compatible?

Otherwise get your dealer to sort it out!

Hi Guy,
Thanks for your prompt reply. The 'castle' gates are by FAAC, the garage door by a German company, the name of which escapes me, and the Front door has got some wierd American lock. I have tried most things but not 'Holding the button for 30 seconds'. I do have an idea that even once the 'Mirror' has learnt the instruction, then the operator must be programmed to recognise the new remote.

I think I will let my Son have a go at It before admitting defeat and calling on the Dealer . Thanks for your comments.
