I’ve finally got my garage renovation finished.
The materials arrived unannounced on Wednesday which, I was really not happy about as I had been promised a phone call to arrange the time, typically I had gone out on Wednesday morning to take care of something else and when I got back the stuff was sitting on a pallet in my garden, anyone could have nicked the smaller stuff, five tubes of mastic and one hundred and fifty roof screws, I was not a happy chappie.
I just knew it was going to be “one of those days.”
Anyhoo, my youngest lad Stuart, who is also on furlough at the moment, and I got tore in and ripped off the old roof on one side.
We had barely gotten the first OSB3 board nailed down when the weather changed from brilliant sunshine to dark clouds, remember what I said about one of those days?
Just as we are nailing down the last board of OSB3 on that side it starts to spit rain. As it’s light, we decide to carry on but, we get two of the corrugated Vistalux clear panels on and the heavens opened. So, we finish up as the OSB3 board we’ve already put up is like an ice rink.
Thursday morning dawns bright and beautiful, and we carry on, finishing off the left side in short order and then on to dismantle the right side.
We had a beautiful sunny day on Thursday so everything proceeded smoothly and we got the roof finished.
Friday morning was again bright and sunny so, I popped over to my local B&Q and picked up some creosote substitute to finish the job off.
I apologise for my pics being a little out of story telling order, my computer is playing silly beggars this morning and I was forced to use my phone to post.
