Gearbox and diff oil.

Hey all, I have a 2014 Sprinter 316. Is the gearbox and diff oil the same? I've been looking into it as I want change both, but the info I'm getting is conflicting.

Changed the oil in my gearbox and diff yesterday. The diff was okay, but the gearbox had quite a bit of metal stuck to the magnet on the plug. 238000mls and it looks like the first time the oil has been changed.

Not surprised after that mileage. Magnetic plugs are there for a reason. Maybe some left over swarf from manufacture. Check it again in another 50K miles.

Was that a ”full” atf change in the gearbox or just the sump ?

I'm assuming a manual gearbox in which case that's totally acceptable... particularly at that mileage.

It was just the sump Wighty. I thought it was about normal for the mileage, box is fine, just thought it might need changing, and I was right. It is a manual Droverunner.
