Gearbox numbers?

Can anyone out there tell me if gearbox number : 20227002007224230378886102074767077 is the electronic W722.6 electronic automatic gearbox required for a MB C180. Alternatively can someone tell me where i could find this information out?

nope - thats the 722.4 box.

four speed form 1994 to 1996

C class (i only have the US epc and it doesnt list the C180 - that box is used on a C220 for definate)

as to getting one - be very very careful - the 722.6 boxes are renowed for being carp (re-arrange letters...)

it took nearly two months to get a decent one - the going rate is about 700 - 900 quid. you have to find a low milage one - or use someone who knows what they are doing - such as George Fraser in west london - tel 02087951055 - he fixed mine (on the CL) you can tell him i sent you

Nice one guydewdney I didn't spot the 7224 I was about to post that the number was garbage. as for picking up a 7226 the MB prices are very good new exchange unit for c class about 1200 quid with warrenty
