Gearbox problem

Hello guys could anyone help me please i have a MB clk 3ltr diesel 1996 after say 10 miles the autobox seems to shut down and the car crawls along
turn the ignition of for a few seconds turn it back on and the car is perfect. I have been on youtube and watched the videos on resetting the gearbox
but no joy has anyone any ideas what the problem could be thanks

What car have you got as the CLK didn’t launch until 1997 and they didn’t stick the 3.0 diesel into them until 2005

Where do you live ?…..update your location , it makes it easy to recommend stuff .
Is this a 5 or 7 speed gearbox ?
When was the gearbox last serviced and what mileage are you on ?
There will probably be some stored fault codes on the car

It'll likely be an engine fault putting the car into limp mode . Investigation is required.

This. Get codes read. Test, don't guess.

My fathers W202 did this. A good half a litre of ATF in the footwell. Atleast that bit of the car didn't rust.
Amazingly it didn't cause any functional issues with the gearbox, probably because the TCU is uphill of the wiring harness so the oil had only made it into the plug. I cleaned it out, cleaned the plug out at the other end, replaced the O rings, been OK since.
