General Q's - Help!!!

I pick my new Benz up on Saturday after many years of Jeep ownership, Its a 2K C240 Sport Auto and I have some questions for anyone that can help...

1) What sort of mpg figures can I expect?
2) Any gremlins to watch out for in general?
3) Should I use a proper Benz dealer or Benz specialist for servicing?
4) I see from last posts that you guys meet up at regular meets, where are they??

MPG :

In the town : 19
On a run      :30-35

For servicing Take it to a dealer as you should have the balance on the 3 year warranty.

They recommend using the Stealership for the first 5 years of the car's life, for minimal depreciation purposes.  Mine's nearly 4 years old (birthday next month!) and I take her to the stealership because she's kind of a high miler and I worry about the poor old thing.

Hi Greg,

My mpg figures are pretty much the  same as Jason's:
Low 20's on urban and 30-35 mpg at a constant 80 mph.

I can't think of any generic gremlins that afflict the C240.
As the other guys have mentioned I'd stick with stealership servicing for the first few years of the car's life to keep residuals high. Just out of interest Greg, if your car is a 2000 model C240 does it have the 2.4 or 2.6 litre engine fitted?

If you keep a watch on the forum here you'll be able to check when the next GTG is likely to occur.

Shude, your car looked in excellent condition at the GTG regardless of it's high miler status.

Thanks for your valued help!!! I pick the car up on Sat but I was led to believe that year 2K onwards is the 2.6 lump...I'll let you know, I suppose the logbook will tell me...
