Genuine Mercedes Touch Up Paint

I have found a small stone chip on the front of my car so I need some Polar White touch up paint. I always buy the manufacturer touch up paint for my cars so I went looking for Mercedes paint.
I was a bit surprised to find that the genuine paint seems to be around £25, but then I seen an ebay seller mercedesbenzofnewcastle had it for £15.49.
That's great I thought...until I seen there is a postage charge of £7.42
I dont understand why the Mercedes paint is so expensive.
Can anybody offer any suggestions where I might find the genuine Mercedes touch up paint a bit cheaper please...or is that pretty much the price of it?

Theres alot on ebay for about £7. I bought 1 for my Ford kuga and 1 for my c207 , both were a very good match tbh.

Very surprised at the geordies asking for pnp, they don't usually...??

haha yes....this does indeed cover a multitude of sins.
I used to think Audi spares were expensive, but Mercedes had to go one better(worse).
Just for comparison 18 months ago I bought Audi Ara Blue touch up paint which is a special crystal effect paint and looks amazing - price including delivery from an official Audi source was £16. I still have it....never needed to use it.
Polar White is a bog standard solid paint.
But hey....I drive a Mercedes now so them's the breaks as they say.

I believe that while can be a bugger to match. EmilysGrandad used to drive for a place that had a white DS420 .... just about every panel was a different colour

This isn't the place I bought a touch up paint from, but it's the same Hycoat paint and MUCH cheaper than MB. Mine wasn't a bad match .... certainly better than seeing the chipped paint.

Yes I seen them when searching earlier, and as you say a fraction of the official MB price.
I just prefer to stick with the official branded touch up paints though, always have done.
Sometimes they are never even used, but I lilke to be prepared for these things and have built up a nice wee collection over the years because I tend not to throw them away.
I still have a 90's Ford colour called Cuirass which is a lovely shade of blue metallic, and i discovered it is a good match for touching up the worktop in my kitchen where I accidentally bashed the edge....twice!

I still have a touch up paint for my 73 MKIII Cortina ..... no idea what it's like as I can't get the screw top off and I've a twin can pack from Vauxhall, never opened, for my C Reg 1985 Carlton

You have my respect, in both age of paint and the car because I love Cortinas.
That easily beats me because the absolute oldest touch up paint I still have is from 1986 which is Rover Moonraker Blue. Again a very lovely blue metallic but completely different to other one I have.

Forgot to say that my MKIII paint is Roman Bronze ..... same as the Cortina in Life on Mars. It disguised the rust very well!

Yep a beautiful colour and an excellent series. Love the Gene Hunt character and the later series where he fired up the Quattro.
Regarding Life on Mars and the GXL, Im sure I read something wasnt quite right with that car and it didnt have the correct interior?

Yes ... IIRC the car was a bit of a mish mash of early GXL & later 2000E ie it had tinted glass from the later car. Not sure if we ever saw the interior .... tunnel dash or later MKIV/V style

Yes without googling it I remember 2000E being mentioned and also Mk.4 interior.
It looked great anyway...a real blast from the past.

That's what I was meaning, the GXL in Life on Mars was a real blast from the past and by far the best looking of all the Mk.3's. I always admired the GXL.

My Mk1 Fiesta was Roman Bronze over Solar Gold...

I just chucked out a Violane touch up from my W210 as it had set solid.
