hi,
my vehicle is A160 SE 2002 model and my problem is to do with the heater fan.Sometimes when turning the ignition "on" the EC light does not illuminate &
the heater fan does not work. Whilst driving the EC light will come "on" of its own accord & the heater fan starts working normally ; similarly with the operation normal whilst driving the EC light will "drop out" but sometimes will come back again on its own . The motor brushes are fine & when the fan does operate it works perfectly. Also, when the EC light is "off" turning the ignition key ON/OFF can somrtimes illuminate the EC button.
It is an intermittent fault that is still present even after fitting a used switch panel(pt no 168 830 2285) & is prety frustrating, especially as we head to winter when no demisting can be dodgy. Hope some of you are able to help me.Cheers, GERRY

A class- A160SE--intermittent heater fan--see previous message posted24/11/2007 @ 0918hrs.
Additionally I have changed the fan motor resistor pack, the dew point sensor and the heater fan all to no avail!!!! It is pretty frustrating and I really do need the heater fan working now the weather is becoming more inclement. When the heater fan is working operation of the heater and the A/c is spot on---please can anyone advise me???
THANKS
FRUSTRATED GERRY(only in the context of the heater fan!!)
