I'm getting my first Mercedes on Friday if the dealer can sort out the number plate issue (previous owner had personalised number plate and apparently sent the log book to the DVLA herself, so the dealer can't sort it out yet).
Can anyone tell me what kind of park assist it will have, because there seem to be so many different types. It's a C200 D Sport Premium, 28th February 2018. Any advice would be appreciated.
One other strange question - how far does the passenger front seat recline? I sometimes move long items and wonder if I can use the passenger side, not just the bit between the seats.
Sorry, it's probably rude to ask questions right at the start, but the car is quite a way from me and I can't check these things out until we collect it.

Hi Tim, welcome to the forum :) I have pretty much the same car but without going out and tying it I havn't got a clue how far the passenger seat reclines. As far as the Registration number change is concerned I went the other way, I put my personal Reg. number on it. That took just under a week before all of the paperwork was in place. :)

Welcome buddy , sounds like a nice car , we are going to need pictures when you get it .
Never apologise on the forum it opens you up to attack , stay strong .
The only people who can answer the passenger seat questions are those young enough to be doing “stuff” in cars ....ouch me back  !!

Hi Tim and welcome. I can’t help with the seats but my 2018 GLC is built on the same platform and that has full park assist. By which I mean it will, if I let it, steer itself into a parking space and all I have to do is operate the throttle and brake pedals and generally keep an eye out in case it gets it wrong. You should have front and rear sensors and I also have a 360° camera system on mine but that was an extra cost option.

Do you mean that Mercedes drivers are not very nice people? :(

Never thought of that!

Thanks for the information. I'm really looking forward to getting my car - it is a heart decision, my head said get a VW Touran, but the heart has won out. Will it be better than my 8 year old Skoda Octavia?

Of course - your heart has a lot more sense than your head! I wouldn’t be driving my car if it was left to my head.

I think that goes for 99.9% of MB owners :) It's a lot to do with image too

Hello and welcome, Tim. Andy has given the perfect answer for you.

Within five minutes you'll feel the "presence" of your car on the road and then you'll know your heart made the right decision!

If it was all about image, I would have gone with the Porsche Macan I test drove around the same time but the GLC was all round a better car (and cheaper ).
