GHR radio

With the exodus of Steve Wright and Ken Bruce from Radio 2, I’m giving up on them and changing to GHR. But I can’t get my DAB to find it. In fact I appear to have a very limited choice. Am I doing something wrong?

I can get GHR on FM but unfortunately the ads are starting to irritate.

Don't head for East Kent, it's a GHR dead area, only way I can get it is channel 716 on my Freeview box or on my PC, our DAB reception is carp (FM/DAB radio in the kitchen is always on FM!) and FM GHR not available. Try explaining that to SWMBO - the proverbial lost cause!!

GHR should be on DAB - check the signal strength in your area
and for good measure - re scan the multiplex it sits on, the car's remember what they once saw, not what might be out there. But also remember DAB is a dying idea and they have stolen the pathetically little band width that was never enough to start with by a 1/4. So effectively its at least 5 times weaker than anyone should expect it to operate successfully with. All these changes were to enable 4 and 5g spying / control of the populous

for other stuff, when the signal checker shows what you should find, if the logo like below has DAB+ in the top right you won't find it unless you can pick up a completely different transmission standard switched on in Jan 2016 called DAB+

see the top right in this picture, DAB+ is NOTHING whatsoever to do with DAB.

If the car is a 2014 it MIGHT have a DAB+ tuner switched off in software alongside the currently enabled old hat DAB tuner - this would be online dealer diagnostic software update fix (if possible) circa 2015 they came with this software switch turned on as they knew the 2016 switch on was coming, but then they all crashed and died when both systems started broadcasting and swamped its little 99 channel brain - an Oct 2016 update fixed the 99 channel crash too

they listen to everything thing you and your family says, and need the data transfer to do it - so your enjoyment of radio / dab comes a very low second - it just like this at home with idiots and siri, cortana, amazon echo, alexa etc. - how else do you think they know if their policies are landing the exact miserable disastrous mess it does.....

What kind of help?

It seems that you are saying that anyone who doesn't believe all your old bollocks 'needs help'. That will be the vast majority of us then.

I’ve been giving GHR a try over the last 10 days or so, it’s pretty OK.

I’d prefer no adverts but they seem to be fewer than other commercial stations so nearing acceptable levels. The music is a bit meh but it’s not Radio One so I can live with it.

It’s comforting to hear Ken Bruce in the Morning and worth tuning in just for him I suppose Although at his age you have to wonder how long he will be there for.
