GL Class
Having read a few posts on here about the suspension, i thought that it would be better to tell my experience.
I'm not sure if I posted about my problems on this forum but anyway hopefully it will help someone.

Bought GL last year 57 plate.
Air bag leak replaced both myself with Arnott watch the wiring connector as I broke both removing them.
New connector from Merc £10 each.
At the same time thought that it best replace compressor.
Bought Aerosus offer came with new valve block Easter offer great I thought.
Few issues between then and August but nothing to right home about.

Went on holiday towing caravan up to County Durham.
Went out on first day near Newcastle. Came back to car and found suspension dropped. Wouldn't pump up when it did took a long time.
Off we went to Merc Newcastle and ask if they could have a look. After a while they put it on a ramp then came back said nothing they could do handed back keys and no charge.

Made it back to site, Next day all down.
Vehicle recovered to Mercedes Coldstream, Found fault valve block split replaced with genuine one next day and about £500.
Got the car back and hooked up to come home filled up garage very near site same again.
Wife is in tears by this time.
Took back to Coldstream and needed new air compressor.
Ordered over night, land slide next morning but driver got through.
Another £500 but your old pump is exchange you get about £70 for it. Mine is in the shed but I will take it in some time.

Coldstream were really good at short notice.
Since then I have had the rear shocks replaced with genuine by MB Automotive
The fronts still need doing and are exchange from Mercedes.
You can get Bilstein from the place in Wellingboro.

Aerosus took back faulty parts, It took them 3 months to come to the conclusion they were faulty, Offered to send replacements but not money back.
So told them what they could do with them.
As you may have worked out I don't have any time for these people.

I am not that well off, But if buy the best you can afford.

Hope this helps some of you.

Mercs are very very well made cars. There are very few (if any) aftermarket parts that are better than merc.
Over the years I have learnt to use only genuine parts.

Thanks for the posting and glad you are sorted.
