Hi all,

A friend came round this morning as his 59 plate gl350d is leaking oil, I removed the undertrays and it's leaking from the rubber bung in the front edge of the gearbox, it's completely black oil so I'm guessing it's the rear crank seal as opposed to a seal in the gearbox.

Has anyone removed an auto gearbox from a gl or knows of a guide for doing so?

I've recently done similar on my x5 but that was the gearbox input shaft seal so I'm happy I can do the work it would just be easier with a guide or steer in the right direction.

Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the response certainly something to look into, especially if it means not dropping the box
