GL420 cdi - Water in Battery Compartment :-(

Hi All

I went to start my newly purchased 2006 GL420 and yesterday the car wouldnt start as the battery was flat - it wouldnt even jump start !

I had a spare battery so dried out the compartment and replaced the battery. The car started fine but there is now a "white battery" warning light on the dash.

My question is "does anybody know where the water may be coming in"? We have had a few days rain so there must a drain blocked - has anybody had a similar experience and poss where the water is coming in ?

I think the white battery is referring to the small Aux battery that sits alongside the main battery under the drivers seat.
