Anyone know any good MB idie's in Glasgow?

Its been about 26 months since car was last serviced, its a 2003 e270cdi, in this time Ive only done about 6 thousand miles, cars at about 85k now.

Should I get car serviced ( oil changed etc) , Or should I wait longer till the onboard computer tells me ( still stays 4k before next service)

thanks,

if it was my car i would have had it serviced a long time ago, what a lot of people dont know that to keep the mobilo warranty the car needs to be serviced on time as well as mileage, i would check asap with your local dealers!!!

But, isn't that the idea of the computer, to tell you when the service needs doing? Doesn't it go into time mode if the mileage isn't high enough?

yes it is but the mobilo warranty is a rule to its own, rules and regulations state after the first 4 years the car has to be serviced by main dealer to keep mobilo life warranty!

Hi digisatman, the engine has oil quality sensors so if yours is saying another 4k, then you can wait, but Im surprised that the service indicator hasn't flagged an inspection up before now if its been 26 months since last service. The oil in a diesel engine is under a bit more stress than a petrol engine so is normally changed a bit more often.
You have to look at a few factors here, is the car under warranty?
Are you going to keep it for ever? ie 30 years?
If not then take it to a good indipendant for half price or less servicing!!
Make sure they stamp your book and do all the usual recordings.
Future owners will always like a book full of stamps.
