It has been quit a few years since I was on here. I have just bought a GLC 300 Coupe my tenth Merc. I Know how to do the key fob thing on my previous cars. I have asked at the dealership but no one seems to know the answer for this MERC :- The instruction manual says to switch the key fob off to the keyless start system is to Quote "press & hold the key button (merc star) with the key button immediately press the key button (unlock) twice in quick succession, the indicator light of the key lights up once briefly and once for a long time" The problem I have is this does not happen. I have put a new battery with 3.2 V into the fob to now avail. does anybody know how to achieve this ?

With thanks

The newer keys have motion detectors that don't transmit anything when stationary - so the double press might have been removed

Hi Blobcat thanks for your reply.
I have been working on what was said in the Mercedes operators manual its all in how you press the lock & open buttons with practice / perseverance I have got it, basically its what the manual says, but more difficult than the older models.

Hi people I'm back with another question. The other day I thought I would try this :- so I started my Merc 300 GLC then got out of the car left it running and walked off with the remote key in hand I got about 200 yards away then the car engine switched off. Now then my question is if the car was stolen by relay attack and the Tablet / laptop receiver was still in the car as its driven off would the car engine stop running after about 200 yards ?

Hi disregard above it is nothing to do with the key.
