Hi guys Im new to this forum.
So I just bought my GLE 53 AMG 2020 and took it straight to the chiptuning and they upgraded my mercedes with stage 1.
Couple days after my air intake burst(I will attach the pictures), also I tried to strengthen the pipe and also glued it down but after two hours same happened it bursts.
Maybe someone can explain to me maybe I need to somehow upgrade the pipe itself or something.
Air Intake detail number a2561410058
Thank you guys

What do Chiptuning advise ? If it is connected to the work they did, they will need to upgrade/fix it.

I would be getting them to check what they did. That has to be some serious overboost to burst that unless it was already damaged.

see post #3 - serious overboost. I would be very worried about what they did and possible damage to the engine. You could have an underlying issue with the air input - was it ever re-mapped before? That is not just a pipe but a check valve and it is being seriously overstressed.

Absolutely no problem with engine we checked it, the thing is the stage 1 Ive added gives to engine 80HP more, the engine itself works good, but just because it has more power the air input pipe doesnt holds this much power and blows off.Of course the air flow gonna be stronger the thing is maybe I can change it for another more stronger pipe like alluminium one or carbon or something.

It really should not be doing that.
It's not the pipe that is the issue.

BMW’s IL6 suffers a lot with charge pipe problems after tuning and as you say there are third party replacements aimed specifically at tuners which I very much doubt are available for your engine. I’d try and talk to AMG about the problem plastic charge pipes aren’t up to the job unfortunately

I doubt AMG would be interested as it didn't happen before the engine was tuned so from their point of view it works fine as supplied

I don’t see why not I’m sure our German friends will be using the IL6 for track days let alone the Autobahn, don’t forget where AMG came from

It's your car, but I seriously doubt that tune is a good one and could well ruin the engine in time.
A tune that destroys the boost pipe is proof enough.
If you value your engine, cut your losses, take it to a reputable re mapper such as MSL Performance or GAD and get it done properly.

Going on your reply above I doubt you'll do the sensible thing.
You have been warned.

There’s a reason they did not use a steel or carbon pipe, the plastic pipe is designed to be the weakest point. If you replace it with a stronger pipe, something else will blow, or possibly engine damage will occur. That’s probably why you can’t find a metal pipe to fit.

Thinking about it the engine will not blow because the pipe will burst first making it a non-runner ;) replace pipe.... and burst......replace pipe......and burst - you get the idea.
