With a bit of luck one of us fine chaps will save it and restore it back to its former glory with a nice new coat of paint.
Such a shame to see these cars painted up in this way. I once saw a Ford Granada Scorpio painted by hand with black and white stripes and Newcastle United FC daubed all over it, just awful!!

All the best,

I wonder what the original project was?

If it was 'Produce a naff-looking item, from a classic', then I would vote it a success.

It hasn't even got the 3-pointed star :(

shall we have a whipround, buy it up and restore it to some sort of condition befitting the marque, then sell it on?

it's criminal in that it was a one owner cherished car before the lads tangoed it

My first car in 1989 was a 1962 Landrover series 2A LWB safari, hand painted in Dulux apple green gloss - My dad kept it for 15 years before swapping it for some welding work on his boat

You don't advise politicians on expense claims in your spare time, by any chance?

So what

Reading between the lines of the advert it has been a 'project' by a group of budding enthusiasts/mechanics wanabees. Probably teenagers, hence the colour scheme!!!

Give some credit where it's due, they're trying to learn about cars (OK, its not my cup of tea either) and maybe will transfer these skills to usefull projects in the future.

As you say, can't get naff all for a few hundred quid, wheels are worth that. Even if you repainted it with a paintbrush (anyone remember Tecaloid self-settling paint?) its a bargain.....
