It,s been a real pleasure being part of this Forum,and I thank everybody, and yes Eric too, for some very valuable advice re keeping my beloved,now departed E320 Coupe on the road.
My car was flood damaged and will be written off, I don't plan to replace it with another Merc.

You don't have to be a Merc owner to be on this forum. Just an enthusiast is plenty enough. Sorry about your car.

On a brighter note it seems to me that secondhand prices will rise due to the large drop in supply (flooded and written off) and the large increase in demand (those who lost in the flood all wanting replacements).

What do you plan to buy next shj?

I have been to the site many times since Eric was banned,have not posted much though,nothing to do with Eric,just havn't had much to say.my not replaceing my Merc is purley a matter of logistics and has nothing to do with anything else,being now retired,I am unwilling to run two cars,It,s amazing how quickly the wrong straw can be grabbed,so I fell the rcord should be set straight.
I am not sure were the car is at the moment but I won't buy it back.

As a matter of interest the wright-off value of my Coupe was £3750.
95 M,5 owners,111,000 miles, which I thought was pretty fare and more than I anticipated,repair costs £13500 !

That is pretty amazing. Twelve years old and not even listed in Glass's Guide (they finish at 9 years old), one might expect the insurance company to take advantage. I suppose they value from for sale adverts and specialist dealers?

You need to send them some dealer adverts at £8,000 (plenty about in Merc Enthusiast) and demand to be reinstated to your previous position.

That's what insurance is all about.

It is not new for old, but it is about being able to buy another E320 with similar mileage (if you want to - or an alternative car for similar money).

I don't know where you get those figures. There are plenty of E320's of younger age, and similar miles for a good deal less, on these sites: -

Cannot see the E320 Coupe's you were refering too.

I think maybe you have missed an important bit of info - you did not read it was the scarce 1995 W124 Coupe.
