Good independent MB dealers around London/SE?

I've just returned from overseas and am looking to buy a used 320 SL - but know nothing about the marque!

Previously owned slighty "older" porsches but am getting too old myself and need something a bit more comfortable! However - from this experience I know that small independent Porsche dealers normally offer best value for money - they're genuinely interested in the cars/experience and are usually very fairly priced with warranties etc and are a well of good honest advice and help (and have good websites).

Could you recommend a few good straight independent MB dealers in the London area (or within 30 miles or so) so I can start looking at some examples and start building up a picture of what's available?

I'm not at all mechanically knowledgeable so would rather deal with trade (unless you can convince me otherwise) so I'm covered for any quick nasty shocks after I get the car home.

finding an SL320

dont know about dependent dealers as I have always bought privately but with this model you need to look at a good few examples (at least 8) to get a feel for what is good.

Weakness is interior condition and in my opinion is a good indicator of car in general . mechanics are generally vg but its essential to see the hard top and soft top taken on and off as its a complex mechanism which must be working A1 when you buy. Soft top condition also important as expensive to replace.

I bought one in december and there was hardly anyone buying - I would guess same would apply now so drive yourself a good deal its a buyers market out there for SLs at this time of year. You should be shooting well below Parker's prices for private and certainly no higher for a dealer purchase.
