Having replaced my ignition system I have decided to replace my radiator. There is a samll leak from the top overflow hose leading back to the expansion tank. On cooling down you can see a faint trickle of coolant.

Anyone have a good contact for radiators or has anyone had similar repaired?

Thanks

That small elbow leading from the top of the radiator can be replaced.

Andy Gayle says don't touch it, but you can if you want to take the risk and consider the radiator as scrap anyway.

The part number is 000 500 08 94 and when you see it, you will understand how it fits and that what is gone is the small o-ring.

Drain the coolant below the neck of the radiator and remove the hose carefully, taking care not to stress the neck. Then having pre-selected a ring spanner using the new part, use the ring spanner through the neck to compress the legs together and withdraw it upwards from the tank.

As I said, it's hard to visualise, but when you see the part, and it is a lot cheaper than a radiator, you will understand what is required.

Good luck.

If you decide to replace, the dealer is usually v competitive.

Otherwise im in the midlands and know of a few places including the nationals like Euro Car Parts etc... Drop me an email if need..

Thanks

rad repair in Manchester

I've just sent my radiator in for a full overhall - a custom core is being made and it's all being soldered up etc. Promised it will come back like new £130.

seems ok to me as I was quoted £240.
