Hi Woski. Welcome from a Scottish peasant. (By the way, your English language is better than many on here!)

P.S. I could do with your front passenger seat for my drivers side, same colour!!

Cheers, Tom.

Hi. Your car looks great.

I recently visited the High Tatra Mountains and Poprad in Slovakia, but didn't get a chance to travel the relativly short distance to cross the border with Poland. I didn't drive, but am considering it next time, perhaps going via Vienna.

There seemed to be a an extreme mix of cars on the road out there, not sure how similar Poland is. The majority of cars being Skodas of all ages, there was a far greater number of old cars than we see on our roads, with the odd very expensive car - I saw a Mercedes CLS and a Brabus ML600!

In Poland there are a lot of Fiats , and Daewoos. By the newest statistic the most popular car in Poland is Fiat panda. But there are still thousands of old cars such as Vw golf II, and Mb w123:)

What is the cost of a re-spray of a car in Poland? I am seriously considering bringing my car from the UK to a country with lower labour costs, because the price of a re-spray over here is so high.

Has anyone on this forum ever tried this? It's clear to me that the biggest cost in a re-spray is the labour of the preparation - the materials represent only a small part of the price.

This thread is rather old, however there is another thread whereby a member had his car resprayed in Ljubljana (Capital of Slovenia) again quite an old thread however the results look great.
Although I travel to Slovenia quite regularly I have not looked these people up yet, although I do intend to.
Pls have a look at the attached threads;

I'm currently living in Warsaw, Poland, stay here each summer and then I live in Thailand the rest of the year. I've recently bought an American spec W123 300 Turbo Diesel which now has a manual gearbox. I'm restoring the car and today got a quote for the bodywork:Two new front wings, two rear wheel arches, re-chrome front bumper, strip and repair any other items in need of restoring. Complete re-spray including door jams, inner sills etc. 4,000 to 4,500 Polish Zlotys, about 750 quid.
I'd wager Woski PL might be able to advise you where you would get a better price as Warsaw is about the most expensive city in Poland IMO.
There are some really excellent mechanics here as well, not fitters. Poland once had the highest number of used Mercs next to Germany, and W123's W124's are still in daily use here, and plenty of them. My experience is that if a Polish mechanic throws something away it must be totally beyond repair.
Take a look at http://moto.allegro.pl/showcat.php?id=4041 and see how many Merc are up on this Polish sale/auction site, and there's around 6 Zloty's to 1 GBP, someone might fancy buying a 'parts car' here:rolleyes:
Have fun guys.

Just looked at the 28 SL's on the site, the prices are something like here allowing also for the fact that the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

I liked the AMG 500 with the dented wing could be a cheap car, but you cant say from a photo. Anyway SLinKY has an AMG so don't want them to become to common.
