Some generous Soul ( truck driver) has decided to reverse into my S bonnet grill in at some point over the last few weeks. Cracked the longest vertical member and pushed/depression in the grill. I pulled and super glued back into place. But the crack line/slight indentation in places is noticeable on the chromed plastic. rather than buying a whole new grill ££. I've ordered a liquid chrome pen to see if it can disguise the crack line. I will take the grill off the car and attempt a repair. Unsure if this will suffice, i'll let you know the outcome.

An old B-Class.
What was you BBQ doing in the street.;);)

But yes, it is incredibly annoying and perhaps an aftermarket 'grille’ would be a less expensive alternative than OEM. You are always going to see the repairs but will learn to live with them. I had some stone chips in the front of my car when it was brand new. Irritated the hell out of me but now I couldn’t care.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear.
Things like that always catch the eye and hit a nerve. I think you may only be happy when it is right - replace.

Below is the the damage inflicted on my grill, to the right is me starting to repair/ super glue and chrome paint. I noticed damage to the car paint work as well. Also bought another grill off Ebay £55 +p&p. Identical to mine with one crack on the vertical member and a crack on the rim. So i will repair both, thinking keep one as spare. Can not justify spending money on a car that would have had 230k or scrapped by this time if working.

Looks pretty good, I’m sure it passes the 20ft test unless you knew it was there, the chrome pen seems to have done relatively well in hiding it

Not happy with the chrome paint, OK but not good enough. Will go down adhesive chrome foil tape. Model shops supply and auto trim shops supply it.
Summer Project.
