Grinding from the internal air flow

I have an A class, and when the car is started there is a grinding noise coming from the dashboard (it stops after around 30secs)- I have isolated this to the internal air flow because when I press the button that regulates the flow between internal and external it starts again - with a slightly different pitch between switcing on or off (suggesting issues with opening and closing) - does any body know how I can get to this unit to either wd40 it or replace it...?

Thanks

Grinding

Be careful with this one. To get to the problem your car has, it means removal of the dashboard. This is a big job and not really a DIY thingy. Better to live with the noise or send it to a garage and preferably one that understands A Class. Sorry couldent give an easy answer but air con/heating/air flow means a lot of work on Benz.:!: Maybe Television might be able to give more on this.
