I just switched on the electrics before starting the car and I heard a definite gurgling sound comming from behind me, is this the sound of a dying fuel pump (starting has been a bit hard again in the last two weeks)?

It could be air getting in the fuel system too...

This moring I check the filler cap (proper mercedes original) and it needed turning a fraction to get it fully "home". Started the car three times since
and got a clean, quick ignition each time...hmmm. Maybe it was that simple.

it is that simple m8 "air getting into the system" can get it any whaere and the cap is often overlooked because it sounds too easy  and this is where others getting the same problem should always start
