IF it were true, I wonder -

a) How far McLaren would stretch there wage bill to keep him
b) How loyal the Hamilton camp would be to McLaren, seeing as they have played a huge part in getting him where he is today

Not that I am biased, but the prospect of this happening makes the mouth water

The prospect of a totally dominant Ferrari again would make the crowds stay away in droves, just as it did with Shumaker.....

Fair comment, actually it wouldn't surprise me if Alonso went back to Renault next season, I just can't see Alonso and Hamilton getting on together

Good that would give Jenson a chance to leave the embarrassing mediocity
that is Honda ( How can a team produce a new racing car thats worse than the Super Aguri which is last seasons car) and Drive for Maclaran before he becomes a complete also ran.
