Harman Kardon & MP3 CD's

Hello Everyone!

I have searched this site, as well as the MB site, to see if the Harman Kardon system (the upgrade option) will play MP3 CDs???

I have been reading posts here about the iPod integration kit, and am beginning to think it's not worth the cost.

I also looked at the HK Drive Play unit, and really don't like all that "stuff" on full display. I like the simple elegance of the MB interior, and would like to keep it that way.

Because we are such audiophiles (we have >1,000 CD's at home), and we spend so much time on the road, we're looking for the best option without carrying around a box full of CD's in the boot.


So, my question is:
Will the HK upgrade play MP3 CD's?
If not, what is the best option for us?

COMAND will play mp's but you may have to have it set up to do so. ask the dealer.

Hello.

If you have odered with COMAND, then yes you are able to play MP3 format CD only. There is no need for the dealer to set this up. If you have ordered with multistack CD changer then this will also play MP3 recoreded CD'S. Note the system will only read upto 99 tracks in both the COMAND and multi stacker.
