I have a cls 320 cdi 2006, the ride is hard even in comfort mode,
It doesn’t seem any different in sport 1 sport 2 or normal other than it does change height ok.
Any ideas please??

Hello and welcome

You don’t have run flats tyres on huge rims do you?

You may be able to get some 16/17 inch wheels from eBay for a couple of hundred quid for a car that age . If you aren’t worried about the smaller rims look , then they will be super comfortable .
Have you tried the pressure with your current wheels at 32 All round

Also what tyre pressures are you running?

shouldn't it be 245/45 on 17" rims for that car as standard?

No, my CLS320 has factory 245/40/18 and rear 275/35/18. I believe the airmatic models with the same wheels should have 255/40/18 and 285/35/18.

My CLS has a smooth ride with the 18s even with shorter bilstein shocks and lower stiffer eibach springs and polyurethane anti sway bar bushes.

Might be worth as others have said looking at new tyres if the current ones are dry and hard before you look at smaller wheels (anything smaller than a 18 look crap on a w219!)

Look on the data card and see what the original set up was.

What brand of tyres are you rolling on!

especially if you're on air suspension I know someone with 20" wheels on air (little too big for my tastes) and the ride of his car is still good

I’d forgotten how good your car looks !
thanks buddy :)
