Hi everyone. I'd like to buy a medium price obd2 scanner. I found good discounts on the Autel AP200 and on the Thinkcar Thinkdriver. I'm interested essentially in two things: reading and resetting error codes and doing forced regenerations on dpf in the case. On Autel website (vehicle coverage link) if I insert w204 it seems not to do the forced regens, but on a w245 it can do them. Has anyone more info about these tools? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you very much

I have one but have only used it in a petrol V8 SL.
Seems to work ok on my car. It now lives in the centre console "just in case"

Thank you! Do you have exactly the AP200? I think I will buy it. I don't know if it has even the function of soot level of the dpf but it seems rather complete. I just now verified on the website that inserting w212 vehicle it does dpf regens while driving (on 651 engine) so I suppose it will work also on my w204

Yes it's the AP200. At £50 it's a decent code reader. No idea what functions will be available on your car.
I'd ask Autel support to confirm.

Thanks again. I wrote them. I'll report here the answer. Many say that the Thinkdriver is even better, but to me it seems too expensive if you use it on multiples brands or VIN. If someone has any other advice is well accepted :)

Thank you! I heard that too, the EU-Pro also. But I'd prefer to stay on a lower price target, I'd use it only for emergencies. If I'd spend 200 euros I'd buy that one for sure

The AP200 is free for life for the first brand but each one after that is an annual subscription. Can make it expensive for multiple brands.

I update the post hoping it could help others in the future. The AP200 works fine on both w245 and w204 (both diesel). On some menus the values are a little strange. You can see it's not a high level and complete diagnosis but considering the cost it works fine and reads many many data. Averall a good purchase for a diy with a low to medium knowledge. For questions I'm here
