May be of interest to some of you.
I have had an onging problem on my E280 (1993) especially during warm up. Problem was that the car's autobox would often start surging whilst stationary and the idle would also be erratic.
Local MB dealer has tried a number of times to sort the problem and failed.
Took it to my local MB independent who sorted it straight away. Turns out that the throttle body get a build up of carbon it which creates air leaks, thus confusing the fuel injection and the amount of fuel being pumped to the cylinders.
By cleaning the throttle body, the problem has now gone.....fantastic!
