Having trouble with your engine oil extractor pump?

I have been having problems with the pump on the oil extractor getting harder to pump, so I took it apart and It turned out to be Aluminium dust that had worn off the inside of the pump tube and was working like abrasive stopping the free movement of the piston. I took the piston apart and washed it with engine cleaner, re-greased it and now it is so much easier.

Was this pump made to pump water and petrol ?,,if not then that is why they pack up,, most are for oil only .The pumps need oil to lubricate them inside.

No it was a specific oil pump
